Refill Sunday: A Reminder

May we be reminded here of our highest aspirations and inspired to bring our gifts….to the altar of humanity.

Last night, I sat up a couple hours past my bedtime, finishing thank you notes, all the while procrastinating with mid-season t.v. premieres and wondering how I was going to get a Refill Sunday post up. I further procrastinated by comparing my multiple calendars and looking at my ‘to do’ list for tomorrow (now today). My list read as follows: 1) blog, 2) church, 3) grocery store, etc…boring, boring. It occurred to me that I most likely would not wake up with an inspiring quote for today’s post, but that it was probable I could be inspired by something I would hear, read or sing at church. So, I drew a nice little two-sided arrow <———> switching blog and church. And it worked like a charm! We recited the above gem within the first 5 minutes of today’s service and I knew it was the perfect sentiment to start this week.

So, if you have not gotten the reminder already via inspirational quotes taped on your bathroom mirror; self-affirmations; a note of encouragement from an unexpected fan; or a doting significant other, then let Dream Hour remind you today — bring your gifts to the altar of humanity this week — the world will be a slightly better place.

Secondary advice to the gift-bringing: if you are in a rut, try drawing a two-sided arrow and see if something magical happens.   :-)
