The Candle Lighter Award originated at Believe Anyway and is given to positive oriented blogs. My thanks to Cindi at Loving Arizona Living for nominating Dream Hour for this award. I am happy to accept Dream Hour’s first blogging award and am always glad to shine a little positive light in the darkness!
Cindi has a wonderful blog that focuses on the joy she finds living in Arizona (a state very close to my heart). I love that she shares positive reflections on the Grand Canyon State (often accompanied by lovely photographs) when many people only associate negativity with AZ. Thanks for sharing the joys of Arizona living, Cindi!
Paying it forward. I would like to pass on this award and nominate two sites I enjoy for Candle Lighter Awards:
Birth and Earth – While Birth and Earth is not technically a blog, this site and the person behind it are definitely bright lights on the world wide web. Rachel is one of the most positive people I have ever met and am thankful to call a friend. Her personal positivity and values are evident in the content of her site, her services to expecting and new parents, and through the informative articles and joyful stories she shares via Birth and Earth’s Facebook page. Her site, service and words are most definitely lit candles in a sometimes dark world.
Reflections on Spilled Milk – This is a parenting adventure blog maintained by the hardworking, funny, creative mom of a 4 year-old, 2-year old toddler twins, and a paraplegic dachshund. The stories Abby shares are honest, funny, and emotional. Her site is a welcome refuge for parents to share their hectic, fun, loving adventures with their kids. Abby also posts helpful sanity-saving ideas and crafty projects to do with your kids. Thanks, Abby, for lighting candles in the sometimes dark hallways of parenting!
Good news for Birth and Earth and Reflections on Spilled Milk, recipients don’t need to do anything. You can choose to put the Candle Lighter Award badge on your site with a link to Believe Anyway so people can read about the award. And if you think someone else is a Candle Lighter, you can give them the award anytime you want and as often as you want!

Congratulations!
Thank you, C.B.!

Thank you, Masta. Takes a candle lighter to know one!
Congrats! Well-deserved. You bring me inspiration with every post.
For some reason this award makes me want to sing a combination of Would You Light My Candle from Rent and I’ll Be Your Candle on the Water from Pete’s Dragon
I was singing those same songs when reading about the award! Great minds…
Jess, congratulations to you on winning the award, and thank you for passing it on to me! What a neat idea. I’ll pay it forward too!
Thank you, Abby. We’ve come so far from Blogging 101! Keep on writing!
So exciting!!! Who knew there was such a blogging sub-culture! I love it!!!
I didn’t know the blogging community had so many secrets. I hope to become privy to a few more of them this year and will share anything I discover with you, fellow blogger.
Congratulations on a very deserving award for you, and thank you SO much for passing it along to me. I am honored!
Thanks, Rachel. I am happy to recognize the positive messages that you share with all of your clients and readers.
